The breathtaking Terrazza del Pincio, overlooking the historic heart of Rome, transformed into a mesmerizing, open-air runway for the fourth edition of Ensemble. Set against a natural scenography of lights, live dance performances, and theatrical storytelling, the two-day gala celebrated the seamless dialogue between academic innovation, ancient craftsmanship, and contemporary high fashion.
Promoted by Rome’s Department for Major Events, Sport, Tourism, and Fashion alongside the Lazio Region’s Department for Economic Development, the event proved that Rome is not just an open-air museum, but a thriving, pulsing capital of modern couture.

Night One: The Audacity of Next-Gen Creators
The opening night belonged entirely to the future. Seven of the region’s most prestigious fashion institutions and academies took center stage, showcasing a choral narrative of contemporary youth culture, textile experimentation, and sustainable design.
- Accademia di Belle Arti di Frosinone opened the dialogue with Just Before, an evocative collection capturing the suspended moments before change, blending structured couture with contemporary streetwear codes.
- Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma presented twelve cutting-edge collections born at the intersection of visual arts, modern design, and new digital technologies.
- Accademia Italiana walked the runway with AIdentities, exploring identity as an ever-evolving digital and physical process.
- Accademia Koefia introduced Modamorfosi, a minimalist, conceptually striking project using pure white fabric as a design language to map the transformation of modern silhouettes.
- Accademia del Lusso dedicated its collection, Libertà, to the unbreakable bond between personal identity and creative freedom.
- Maiani Accademia Moda enchanted the audience with Infinity, a poetic journey built on manual craftsmanship, intricate embroidery, upcycling, and tactile textile manipulation.
- Accademia Nazionale dei Sartori closed the night with Cut From the New Side, a flawless, contemporary reimagining of traditional Italian tailoring.
“Youth is not the future; they are our present,” noted Alessandro Onorato, Rome’s Councilor for Major Events, Tourism, and Fashion. By granting hundreds of students free access to iconic Roman locations—from Piazza del Campidoglio to Villa Borghese, and now the Pincio—the city is actively investing in keeping creative talent from fleeing abroad.
Night Two: The Absolute Triumph of Roman Haute Couture
The grand finale shifted the spotlight to the established masters of Roman Alta Moda, proving that independent ateliers and small-to-medium design houses remain the economic and artistic backbone of Italian luxury. Eight world-class designers presented exclusive creations that blended heritage with boundary-pushing concepts:
- Franco Ciambella invited guests into a dreamscape with Angeli in controluce (Angels in Backlight), featuring Ethereal silhouettes.
- Giada Curti offered an exclusive preview of her 2027 collection, celebrating contemporary femininity through feather-light textures, exquisite couture detailing, and refined volumes.
- Nino Lettieri mastered contrast with Bianco e Nero: L’Essenza (Black and White: The Essence), a rigorous, graphically striking formal exploration.
- Antonio Martino Couture brought bold materiality to the runway with Riflessi Notturni PVC Couture (Night Reflections), experimenting with unexpected industrial textiles.
- Michele Miglionico revived and elevated the unapologetic glamour of the 1980s through a sophisticated, modern couture lens.
- Sabrina Persechino merged disciplines with Metron, translating architectural proportions, structural balance, and geometric mathematical concepts into wearable art.
- Jamal Taslaq told a stories of cultural intersection, memory, and shared identity with the radiant Ali di Luce (Wings of Light).
- Gian Paolo Zuccarello closed the spectacular showcase with Poesia Siciliana (Sicilian Poetry), a deeply emotional tribute to his Mediterranean roots and the pinnacle of Italian artisanal excellence.
The visual perfection of the runway was elevated by the hair styling of industry icons Sergio Valente and Gerry Santoro, alongside the Face Place Makeup Academy by Pablo Gil Cagné.
A Renaissance for the Eternal City
Ensemble is part of a broader, highly successful strategic vision. The event falls under the Roma Smart Tourism project, funded by the Ministry of Tourism to enhance UNESCO World Heritage sites through culture and creative industries.
The financial and cultural impact of this strategy is monumental. Independent studies by Il Sole 24 Ore recently certified that Rome’s major sports, culture, and fashion events have generated a massive €7.5 billion in economic return over the past four years—surpassing the projected winter Olympics of Milan-Cortina and matching the impact of the Paris Olympic Games, employing over 100,000 people.
Furthermore, the Lazio Region is heavily backing this creative ecosystem. “Lazio inherits a priceless heritage of style and manufacturing,” stated Roberta Angelilli, Vice President of the Lazio Region, announcing that the region has deployed €15 million to support the internationalization of fashion businesses, alongside specific funds dedicated to helping historic ateliers transition into digital and energy-efficient spaces.
With fashion school enrollments rising and global luxury giants steadily returning to Rome, including Valentino, Fendi, Dior, Dolce & Gabbana, and the highly anticipated Chanel show arriving on December 2nd, Ensemble 2026 has firmly cemented Rome’s status as the ultimate capital of creativity. The fashion world now looks forward to the next major appointment: Roma Fashion Week in September.
